How often to post on LinkedIn per week
Two to four posts a week, weekdays only. Why posting more often often backfires
Two to four posts a week, Monday to Friday. LinkedIn is the network where posting less works better: one post a day tires a professional audience far faster than elsewhere.
Why the rhythm is slower
A LinkedIn post lives long, sometimes days, because comments push it back up the feed. Posting too often buries your own previous post, which would have kept running.
The audience differs too: people check LinkedIn between meetings, not on loop. They do not want to see you five times a day.
Weekends are dead
Activity collapses on Saturday and Sunday. A good post published Saturday morning does a fraction of what it would have done on a Tuesday. Save it for the week.
On LinkedIn, answering comments on your own post within the hour often does more for its reach than one extra post that week.
A rhythm that holds
- Starting out: two posts a week, Tuesday and Thursday morning.
- Building an audience: three to four a week, always on weekdays.
- Selling: keep that rhythm and reserve one post in four for your offer.
Timing matters a lot
LinkedIn follows office hours. Early morning holds the attention, before the day carries everyone away. Posting at 8pm works far less well than on Instagram.
